The news and technological trends for this year 2019 are:

1.  5G networks

The 5G network promises to be up to 100 times faster than 4G. According to DAMO, this will accelerate the development of ultra high definition 4k and 8k videos, as well as the advancement of virtual and augmented reality.

This technology will also favor the development of the internet of things, and autonomous vehicles where low latency (the reduction in the response time between sending and receiving an order) is fundamental.

2. New computing architectures

Heterogeneous computing architectures, systems with more than one type of processor and integrated circuits with specific application (ASIC). Everything aims to improve data processing, optimize energy efficiency and reduce latency, which is fundamental for the internet of things.

The computer architecture will be optimized to enhance the development of artificial intelligence and the long awaited arrival of quantum computing.

3. Aritificial intelligence chips

Machine learning systems require the processing of large volumes of data at full speed. To optimize these processes, more and more artificial intelligence (AI) chips, increasingly powerful thanks to 3D stacking, will begin to be used.
